Herminiimonas arsenicoxydans sp. nov., Genoscope's other sequencing projet, is a bacterium with the same detoxicate potential as Thiomonas spp.

Genoscope is undertaking the sequencing of the beta-proteobacterium, Thiomonas spp.: a bacterium capable of oxidizing and reducing arsenic with the goal of detoxification.

The size of this genome of this bacterium is extimated at about 5 Mb. The genome will be sequenced at 10X depth, using three libraries: about 25,000 insertsof 3 kb cloned in a pcdna2.1 vector (small copy number) and close to 4000 inserts of 20-25 kb cloned in a miniBAC (pBBC) vector.
A manual finishing step will be carried out at Genoscope.
