Genoscope is undertaking the sequencing of about 20 000 inserts from 4 SAGE* libraries. A single read will be performed on inserts of about 500 bps, cloned in the pBlueScriptII plasmid.

*SAGE (Serial Analysis of Gene Expression): a powerful technique for the quantitative analysis of transcriptional activity in different tissues or at different stages of development. Quantification is possible relative to DNAs which have been previously identified or not.
