We are a "humid-lab" that combines quantitative (epi)genomics and bioinformatics to understand bacterial evolution, adaptation and pathogenicity.
Our research interests
Our current research interests focus on identifying emerging challenges in the relatively young research field of microbial epigenomics. In particular, we are interested in obtaining a greater understanding of:
- How genetic flux is controlled by DNA methylation
- How epigenetic regulation modulates bacterial virulence
- The interplay between methylome and gene regulation
- Bacteria-phage warfare and defensomes
