The Bacchus Blast Server is based on the NCBI Web Blast, which is part of the NCBI Toolkit. It is an integration of NCBI Web Blast in the Genoscope computing architecture.. Bacchus uses LSF (Load Sharing Facility), which handles requests, and MySQL (several databases are used). It is written in PERL, and is made of serveral small scripts using a core library containing its main functions. A complete graphical interface is also provided for administrators, in order to facilitate database upgrades.
