UPA00617 glycerol fermentation~In the absence of an external oxidant, glycerol is consumed by a dismutation process involving two sub-pathways. Through one sub-pathway (oxidative route), glycerol is dehydrogenated by an NAD+-linked glycerol dehydrogenase (DhaD) to dihydroxyacetone.
