coenzyme M-coenzyme B heterodisulfide reduction~All processes in methanogenesis lead to the formation of a mixed disulfide bond between coenzyme M and coenzyme B, by a reaction in which coenzyme B reduces methyl-coenzyme M , leading to formation of methane and a coenzyme M-coenzyme B heterodisulfide [PMID:12102556] .
