Genoscope is sequencing 3 strains of K. pneumoniae and 1 strain of K. ozaenae. The estimated genome size for these species is around 5,5 Mb. Each genome will be sequenced by pyrosquencing (454 - Roche) to a 20x genome size coverage.
Errors will be corrected by short fragments sequencing using the Solexa-Illumina technology to a 50x coverage.
An automatic genome annotation will be performed by Genoscope and the Institut Pasteur.
