State of the project:
Strain E. lactis CK1114 was isolated from cheese in Stavropol region of Russia (Botina & Sukhododolets, 2006) It has effective lactic acid bacteria metabolic profile and better adaptation than other isolates of E.faecium group to food-related environment. Its chromosome is of 2.5Mb long.
This strain had been selected for genome sequencing and comparative genome analysis with other Enterococci to identify genetic determinants related to the constraints of the environmental niches and inhabitats.
