State of the project:
Genoscope is undertaking to sequence the whole genome of the bacteria Clostridium sticklandii (DSM 519). The genome size for this strain is estimated at 6 Mb.
Sequence coverage for the genome is 12X. Three libraries are being sequenced : 30,000 clones with 3 kb inserts and 10,000 clones with 10 kb inserts in a pCNS vector (low copy number) and nearly 6,500 clones with 40 kb inserts in a fosmid vector (pCC1Fos).
A manual finishing stage will be performed at Genoscope.
